With public toilets being a thing of the past across the UK, with majority ofpublic toilets having been closed, With not all members of the public being aware of this. Those with specific health conditions and the aged; are in need of support.

Now various toilet mobile phone apps or written cards are available for the aged or people with health conditions like IBS, allowing them to use staff toilets in certain shops on the high street.

A number of organisations provide website information and advise.

Here is a small list of some of them, provided by the CWU NW Health & Safety Co-ord:

Please note:A toilet card is a card that you can show quickly and easily to staff in shops, pubs and other places. It explains that you have a medical condition and need urgent access to a toilet. Sometimes it is also called a bladder and bowel card or a ‘no waiting’ toilet card.

'Toilet Cards' can be hard copy or a digital format to used via your mobile phone. The idea bheind it is to gain access to toilets inside shops, pubs, restuarants, without having to be a customer.
